Das Abbild eines Menschen ist manchmal ein Teil von ihm und manchmal steht es für sich. In einer Welt, in der wir von Daten überflutet werden, vermögen wir ohne Abschirmung nicht mehr zu existieren. Mit einer Abschirmung aber, kann ein Abbild nur noch als Echo existieren und ein Teil der Kakophonie sein. 

Eine verstörend-gute Geschichte über Einsamkeit in einer Welt, die wir uns durch die Sucht nach Daten selbst geschaffen und damit zerstört haben.

Geschwindigkeitsrausch bis zuletzt. Eine mir etwas zu hämisch-belehrende Geschichte zur Sinnfreiheit von fehlender Geschwindigkeitsbegrenzung und ihren möglichen Folgen in einer Zukunft, in der diese Variante des Freiheitsgefühls absurd geworden ist.

Angetrieben vom Wunsch, ewig zu existieren, könnte eines Tages die Wissenschaft Möglichkeiten bieten, das Dasein eines Menschen in einen Computer zu transferieren. Doch die die nicht-stoffliche Existenz wäre nur der erste Schritt. Erst die Erschaffung eines ewig lebenden Wesens, gespeist mit dem eigenen Geist, wäre das finale Ziel. 

Skurrile Umsetzung einer Frankenstein-Adaption, die nicht so wirklich weiß, ob sie kritisch, gruselig oder lustig sein möchte.

Der Garten

Passend zur Jahreszeit: Ein bisschen (arg viel) Schnee und Eis … allerdings auf einem lebensfeindlichen Planeten, weit entfernt von unserer Sonne und unserer Zeit. Dass Besiedlungsprojekte nicht zwangsläufig gut laufen müssen, weiß man ja, aber dass sie auch noch nach mehreren Generationen in die Sackgasse laufen, ist schon frustrierend. So richtig dumm läuft’s dann, wenn Menschen nicht die einzigen sind, die sich gerne auf anderen Planeten niederlassen.

Atmosphärisch sehr gut umgesetzte Besiedlungsgeschichte, bei der (mal wieder) der Versuch, die alten Geister hinter sich zu lassen, zum Scheitern verurteilt scheint.

Irgendwann, vielleicht

Wird man aus der Heimat vertrieben, muss man sich an die ein neues Zuhause gewöhnen. Was bleibt, ist eine abstrakte Sehnsucht an etwas, das man nicht einmal wirklich erlebt haben muss. Was aber, wenn das neue Zuhause einmal die Heimat einer anderen Zivilisation war … oder noch ist? Auch wenn das fremde Leben einem unbekannt ist, ist es nicht wertloser als das eigene. Toleranz, Respekt und Neugier sind der Schlüssel zu einer Koexistenz. Und wie weit muss/darf man gehen, Intoleranz auszugrenzen? Wichtige Fragen, die heute aktueller sind, denn je.

Der die finale Invasion beginnt nicht mit profanen Untertassen, sondern mit noch profaneren Kugeln. Nichtsdestotrotz sind sie die Vorboten des Endes und ob der gute, alte Prepper-Bunker die Lösung ist, wird sich sicher schon bald herausstellen … 

Knackige Endzeit-Story mit einer schönen Portion achselzuckendem Fatalismus.

Die Patientin

Alles an dieser Geschichte ist überwältigend. Das Schwarze-Loch-Setting, das bevorstehende Ende des Universums, der personifizierte alte Tod und der personifizierte neue Tod und nicht zuletzt die Metamorphose einer besonderen Frau über den Tod eines Universums hinweg, die viel zu lapidar nur als “Patientin” benannt ist.

Wer mal ein einer SF-Geschichte schreibt, die ihr/ihm womöglich zu heftig erscheint, findet in Toni Frey ihre/seine Meisterin.
