Gleich die erste Microstory in Naniten 3 von Volker Dornemann geht den Schritt zur Beantwortung der Frage, für die wir uns wahrscheinlich alle interessieren: Was kommt nach dem Leben (in der physischen Welt)?

Entlang der Menschheitsentwicklung erzählen wir uns Geschichten über eine spirituell oder religiös definierte Welt der Geister oder Seelen, in die wir (mal mehr, mal weniger unbeschadet) hinübergehen werden. Da sich diese Welt allerdings ausschließlich (anders lautende Belege können mir gerne zugesandt werden) in den Köpfen der Glaubenden abspielt, hat sie außer den esoterischen oder religiösen Statuten keinen Anker in unserer Welt.

Die Vertreter*innen der Phantastik dachten diesen Diskurs weiter, indem sie digitale Welten erschuf, in die wir unser Bewusstsein kopieren und hochladen können, während globale IT-Konzerne mit ihren diversen (meist männlichen) Tech-Milliardären, diese Vorstellungen allmählich Realität werden lassen wollen. Doch wäre so eine Welt wirklich real, obgleich sie vollständig künstlich ist? Wir werden diese und andere Fragen wohl erst dann so wirklich beantworten können, wenn wir selbst „drüben“ sein werden.
